Orange County (Gotha):

Principal
Light Christian Academy, a ministry of Ocoee Church of God, is seeking a principal for its K-12th grade campus in Gotha, FL. The ideal candidate is a high-energy, innovative leader in education who can promote and facilitate a vision of academic success for all students. The principal must be able to cultivate leadership among members of our school community, manage and promote instructional excellence, and understand how to improve classroom methodologies.

The principal reports to the school superintendent and to the lead pastor of Ocoee Church of God and provides spiritual, instructional, operational, and administrative leadership to the campus’s administration, faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities include school administration, curriculum oversight and faculty development for the K-12th school, and other responsibilities

Requirements include having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, being in agreement with the school’s statement of faith and Code of Christian Conduct, being an active member of or willing to become an active member of Ocoee Church of God, hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, and having a minimum of 3 years experience in education (Christian education experience preferred).

Food Service/Morning Care Coordinator
At Light Christian Academy, a food service/morning care coordinator is responsible for preparing student meals, tracking student orders and lunch payments, maintaining inventory and ordering product, monitoring and ensuring the safety of students before school. Tasks include, but are not limited to, heating and serving pre-cooked meals, tracking student orders and payments, cleaning the cafeteria and kitchen area, assisting with monitoring students during break and lunch, ordering food items, monitoring students inside during morning care and tidying the morning care area. In addition to being a Christian involved in a local Bible-believing church, a candidate for the position must have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, be able to work well with a team, have a ministry mindset, and be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds. Applicants must satisfactorily pass required background check process and complete all employment documents.

Paraprofessional
At Light Christian Academy, a paraprofessional’s responsibilities include but are not limited to providing staff support in an educational environment. Paraprofessionals will work with children individually or in small groups in education-related activities as assigned by teachers’ directions. A bachelor’s or associate’s degree from an accredited university is preferred, as is previous experience with Abeka and/or ACE curriculum. Elementary School Teacher
At Light Christian Academy, an elementary teacher is responsible for the education and safety of his or her students. Tasks include, but are not limited to: providing instruction in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science; teaching and modeling personal, social, and emotional skills; organizing learning material and resources; using a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities etc.) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities; assessing student progress; maintaining accurate records of student attendance and grades; and communicating effectively with parents. Applicants for the position must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, be able to work well with a team, be creative, and have a ministry mindset. A bachelor’s or associate’s degree from an accredited university is preferred, as is previous experience with Abeka curriculum. Applicants must satisfactorily complete required background check process and all employment documents.

 

Secondary School Teacher
Light Christian Academy is currently seeking a secondary teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. At LCA, a secondary teacher/supervisor is responsible for the education and safety of his or her students. Tasks include, but are not limited to, providing academic instruction in small group or individual settings across a range of subjects, assisting students with setting goals and completing course work, grading tests, maintaining accurate records of student attendance and grades, and communicating with parents. In addition to being a Christian involved in a local Bible-believing church, a candidate for the position must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, be able to work well with a team, be creative, and have a ministry mindset. A bachelor’s or associate’s degree from an accredited university is preferred, as is previous experience with Accelerated Christian Education curriculum.
