Orange County (Gotha):
Elementary Teacher
Light Christian Academy is currently seeking an elementary teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. At LCA, an elementary teacher is responsible for the education and safety of his or her students. Tasks include, but are not limited to: providing instruction in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science; teaching and modeling personal, social, and emotional skills; organizing learning material and resources; using a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities etc.) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities; assessing student progress; maintaining accurate records of student attendance and grades; and communicating effectively with parents. Applicants for the position must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, be able to work well with a team, be creative, and have a ministry mindset. A bachelor’s or associate’s degree from an accredited university is preferred, as is previous experience with Abeka curriculum. Applicants must satisfactorily complete required background check process and all employment documents.
Secondary Teacher
Light Christian Academy is currently seeking a secondary teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. At LCA, a secondary teacher/supervisor is responsible for the education and safety of his or her students. Tasks include, but are not limited to, providing academic instruction in small group or individual settings across a range of subjects, assisting students with setting goals and completing course work, grading tests, maintaining accurate records of student attendance and grades, and communicating with parents. In addition to being a Christian involved in a local Bible-believing church, a candidate for the position must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, be able to work well with a team, be creative, and have a ministry mindset. A bachelor’s or associate’s degree from an accredited university is preferred, as is previous experience with Accelerated Christian Education curriculum. Paraprofessional
Light Christian Academy is currently seeking a paraprofessional for the 2025-2026 school year. Paraprofessionals assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities – Provide support and supervision to children in the classroom – Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies – Help create a safe and nurturing environment for children – Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the classroom – Assist with daily routines, including mealtime, naptime, and toileting – Support children’s social-emotional development through positive interactions and guidance – Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment Experience: – Previous experience working with children in a childcare or preschool setting – Knowledge of childhood development and early childhood education principles – Familiarity with toddler care and age-appropriate activities – Ability to effectively manage a classroom and engage children in learning experiences – Basic math skills for assisting with educational activities – Experience in curriculum development or implementing established curriculum Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
